The National Health Fellows Programme Opens Applications for Cohort 2 — November 1, 2025
The National Health Fellows (NHF) Programme has officially announced the opening of applications for Cohort 2 beginning November 1, 2025. This nationwide initiative offers a unique opportunity for young Nigerian professionals in health and related fields to gain hands-on experience, strengthen local health systems, and actively contribute to shaping the future of Nigeria’s health sector.
About the Programme
The NHF Programme is designed to nurture the next generation of leaders in Nigeria’s health sector. Fellows will work closely with local health authorities, NGOs, and community stakeholders to support evidence-based interventions, improve service delivery, and promote sustainable health solutions across various states.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the National Health Fellows Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Be between the ages of 25 and 35.

Hold a Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field, IT, or social sciences.

Show demonstrable interest or experience in public health, health-related NGOs or partner organisations, or community-based projects demonstrating leadership and initiative.

Be available to participate full-time in the fellowship programme.

Be an indigene of the state they are applying for.

Possess a smartphone with data capability (for WhatsApp, Zoom, etc.).

Provide a recommendation letter from one of the following:

University Dean
-
NYSC place of primary assignment
-
A respected organisation attesting to character and leadership

Exhibit strong analytical skills and entrepreneurial drive.
